It is tax season again. The Chester County Library in Exton is pleased to announce the AARP Foundation Tax Aide Program available for the 2016 tax year during the months of February, March and April 2017. The Tax-Aide Program is offering free, confidential services to assist in preparing your Federal, State and Local tax returns. All tax preparers are volunteers who received extensive training and have successfully passed an IRS certification examination. Although originally developed to assist seniors, the program is open to all wage groups with low to moderate income. AARP membership is not required. Federal and state returns are prepared and electronically filed at no charge; however, taxpayers with “complex” returns may be advised to seek professional tax assistance. Documents needed for tax preparation include: Last year’s tax return, Forms W-2, Forms 1099 (including SSA, 1099 /1099R /1099INT /1099DIV /1099B), Health insurance documentation, and broker statements for sale of property: I.e. stocks, bonds, mutual funds and home. Tax-Aide volunteers are available by appointment only.Library: Chester County Library & District Center
