Event Type: Adults
Date: 10/16/2019
Start Time: 2:00 PM
End Time: 3:00 PM
Falls are a serious health risk for older people. For many older adults, a fall is a life-changing event that could lead to disability and loss of independence. Physical Therapist Kyoko Yamada will talk about physiological changes that happen in our bodies with aging, and how to prevent falls. The presentation will be followed by fall risk tests.

Kyoko Yamada has a BS in Kinesiology / Pre-Physical Therapy, and holds a Doctor in Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences.
Kyoko worked in an outpatient clinic and inpatient rehabilitation center for five years when she came to the realization that for many people, it was very difficult to get to the clinic, either due to lack of transportation or because they were too weak to leave their homes safely. To meet their needs Kyoko created her own in-home therapy business.
Kyoko has a strong background in orthopedic neurological, geriatric, and surgical aftercare therapy, having worked in an outpatient clinic and an inpatient rehabilitation center. She loves her profession and helping people make changes in their lives by providing high-quality care.
