Next Chapter Book Club is a community-based book club designed for adolescents and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to read and learn, make friends and have fun together in a public setting. Four to eight members and two club meeting facilitators meet weekly at the library for one hour to read and discuss a book of their choosing. Anyone age 16 and over can participate, no matter their reading or ability level. Trained library staff and volunteers facilitate each club meeting.Library: Henrietta Hankin Branch Library
Our Tuesday evening group will be starting a new 12-week session on September 3rd with the book selection New Love, Spilt Milk, and Potbellied Pigs - a set of short-stories, poems, and plays written by Thomas Fish & Jillian Ober. Anyone interested in joining our Tuesday evening group, or being part of another Next Chapter Book Club grouping on another day and time, should contact Claire Michelle Viola by email at firstname.lastname@example.org, or by phone at 610-321-1710 for enrollment information. We are also seeking volunteers interested in co-facilitating new groups as they are formed.
This is a great opportunity to make friends, enjoy books and have fun on a regular basis.
