Event Type: Adults
Date: 9/19/2019
Start Time: 6:30 PM
End Time: 7:30 PM
Join the league of Women Voters in a panel discussion on the history of registration and voting in America. Discover the importance of registering to vote and taking part in the election process. Learn about election reform and some of the barriers to voting, for example, Gerrymandering. Speakers will include Carol Kuniholm, chair and co-founder of Fair Districts PA, a nonpartisan political organization which encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy. Fair Districts PA promotes that free and fair elections are the foundation of our democracy and believes Pennsylvania needs to reform its redistricting rules to promote competitive elections and partisan fairness—so that our government truly is of, by, and for the people. This program supports the "American Creed" initiative.
