 Reap the rewards of organic gardening! Deb Kates, organic gardener for 40 years, returns to talk about the benefits of organic gardening such as saving money, stress relief, exercise, nutrition and great tasting food! Learn about heritage and hybrid seeds and how to start seeds under "gro-lites". As a special treat to support the Longwood Gardens Community Read Program book choice "Seeds", by Thor Hansom, Deb will discuss how to start seeds under lights and demonstrate how best to harvest and save seeds from your own plants. The Chester County Library is proud to partner with Longwood Gardens Community Read, developing programs designed to “encourage reading and start a conversation”. A limited number of family passes to Longwood Gardens will be given away during the program.
This program supports the PA Forward Civic and Social Literacy Initiative.
