This year marks 50 years since the events in this film, events that became a major turning point in the modern gay civil rights movement. On June 28, 1969, police raided the Stonewall Inn, a popular gay bar in the Greenwich Village section of New York City, which led to violent protests that lasted for days and became known as the Stonewall riots. Letís take a look at how these events unfolded and their repercussions.
