Tragedy & Triumph-The incredible true story of the Johnstown flood

Event Type: Adults
Date: 8/7/2018
Start Time: 7:00 PM
End Time: 8:00 PM
The best selling author of "Two Sisters", Mary Hogan will share the incredible true events that inspired her historical novel, "The Woman in the Photo": The harrowing Johnstown Flood in Pennsylvania's Gilded Age. The Johnstown story of class and catastrophe is eerily relevant today, and one of it's real life characters, American Red Cross founder Clara Barton, defines the word "extraordinary". Learn about what really happened on that awful day, and what didn't happen in it's aftermath. Bonus: Mary Hogan will raffle off two signed copies of "The Woman in the Photo" as well as two signed copies of her hot-off-the-press new novel, "Left: A Love Story". This program supports the PA Forward Civic and Social Literacy Initiative.
