Join the Chester County Library at the Exton Park (132 Church Farm Lane, Exton, PA 19341)for a once in a lifetime solar eclipse viewing event!

A Solar Telescope will be on hand. As you may already know, on Monday, August 21, 2017, a total eclipse of the Sun will be visible in the continental United States for the first time in almost 40 years. A total eclipse is when the Sun is completely hidden by the Moon, the sky becomes dark, and the Sunís faint atmosphere (corona) becomes visible, looking like a beautiful halo. This total eclipse will only be visible on a narrow track stretching across the United States from Oregon to South Carolina. Here in Chester County, we can expect to see about 70% of the sun eclipsed by the moon. The U.S will not experience another total solar eclipse until 2024. Viewing glasses will be given to the first 100 registered attendees AT THE EVENT. Registration does not guarantee glasses.
